j1on1ChessIX is a traveling electronic chess board. It provides a display that is directionally designed so that players can sit across from each other and apply their moves through a touch screen input. A timer countdown automatically starts with a players turn when the opposing player submits their move. Unique to this game is a game scoring scheme based on the piece moved, captured piece, castling, and placing the king in check. If the game is not complete before time expires, then the player with the highest score wins. The opposing player to a player whose time has expired will be allowed to complete their last move provided it is submitted before their time expires.
